ABOUT US
When we hear the words snakes, spiders, lizards, and bugs, out initial reaction may range from curiosity to repulse and often times, fear. Many would consider them as PEST and not as PETS. However, through the years, we have learned to overcome these negative connotations and most of us found great pleasure and excitement from taking care of EXOTICS.
As a child, Waxy Tan (founder of WYVERN), used to catch bugs, spiders, beetles and lizards, ever searching for the strange and odd lifeforms. It was during the pandemic that he discovered the thrill of keeping EXOTIC PETS. Starting from simple isopods to tarantulas, scorpions and eventually venturing into the reptile world.
WYVERN was established in 2021 with an aim to promote EXOTICS as household pets, mainly focusing on bearded dragons, breeding a variety of colours and morphs, we aim to create unique and quality dragons for us to share to the world. By providing vital information regarding proper care and safety regulations, potential pet owners can enjoy caring for them to its full potential.
WYVERN also promotes legal keeping; all the reptiles we hold are regulated under the Philippine law; thus, legal documents are provided for you to register your exotic pets.
About our Live Animals
Bearded Dragons
The Central Bearded Dragon (pogona vitticeps), native to the central deserts of Australia, the bearded dragon’s name comes from its behaviour of extending the flap of skin under the jaw or “beard” in a defensive posture. These animals are cold-blooded; therefore, they rely on natural or artificial heat to regulate their temperatures and bodily functions.
Natural and artificial light are necessary to provide the UVB and heat for them to digest their food and absorb calcium and vitamin D3.
The artificial lights and accessories are available for purchase from our shop.
Ball Pythons
Ball Pythons (Python regius), native to West and Central Africa, are popular snakes cherished for their manageable size, docile demeanor, and diverse array of color morphs. These compact reptiles typically grow to 3-5 feet in length and boast distinct triangular heads with heat-sensitive pits. Renowned for their calm nature, they are often chosen as pets, especially for those new to reptile ownership. Their adaptability to captivity, combined with their striking appearances, has made them a staple in the pet trade. Proper care involves providing suitable enclosures, maintaining proper heating and humidity levels, and offering a diet of rodents in accordance with their size and age. Despite their widespread availability, it's crucial to ensure responsible sourcing to help conserve wild populations and ensure the well-being of these captivating snakes.
Leopard Geckos
Leopard Geckos (Eublepharis macularius) are popular and charming reptile pets originating from arid regions in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and parts of India. Known for their distinctive appearance and relatively low-maintenance requirements, they have become a favorite among reptile enthusiasts. These geckos display striking patterns and colors, ranging from vibrant yellows and oranges to subdued browns, adorned with dark spots and bands that help them blend into their desert environments.
Leopard Geckos are crepuscular, meaning they are most active during dawn and dusk. Their docile temperament makes them well-suited for handling, and they are often considered a good choice for beginners in the reptile-keeping hobby. These geckos thrive in simple yet appropriately equipped enclosures that mimic their natural habitat, complete with hiding spots, a shallow water dish, and a heat source to regulate their body temperature. A diet primarily composed of insects, such as crickets and mealworms, ensures their nutritional needs are met. Thanks to their captivating appearance and gentle disposition, Leopard Geckos have secured their place as beloved and accessible pets in the reptile world.
